John C Falk Sr:  

Life Graduated from OSU in 1969.Married (Joyce)in 1969. Taught at CBU from 1970 to 1973. MBA From Xavier in 1974. Two children (Jennifer & John Jr) both WHS graduates. Both married/Jen 3 sons/John 2 sons. Lived in WHS area until 2003. Moved to Genoa Township in Delaware County in 2003. Coached womens fastpitch at Columbus State CC (1993 to 2001). Have worked for Capital Fire Protection Co. since 1964 (part time then full time, design then administration). Served for 15 years as Treasurer (CFO) of Capital Fire. Elected President in 2003 till 2008. On disability leave for 2007 to early 2009., but remain as Chairman of Board of Directors. Returned to work 2009 to help in various areas. Training replacement to handle adminstrative/accounting tasks. Plan to retire in December 2012. Active in Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Treasurer of local chapter of SFPE since 1984. Board member (16 years) of Western Credit Union. Served as Chairman of Board from 2004 to 2009. Currently Treasurer. Also served as Treasurer from 1994 to 2004. The year 2007 was a life changing year. Suffered a heart attack on February 19th. Open heart surgery delayed until Mar 1st because of an infection. Quad By-Pass. Three weeks later an operation for hernia, after a blood clot and ulcer discovered. Hospitalized 3 more times for fluid build up in the chest. Doc's (cardiologist) final discovered the fluid was in chest cavity and not the lungs. Chest tube inserted and 3.5 litters of fluid was drained from my chest. Returned part time to work in July. By August 31st had 3 hypoglycemic episodes and Docs decided that stress was causing the very low blood sugars. Was off work from Sept 2007 till April 2009. Have lost over 100 lbs since the by-pass surgery. Have had great success with rehab after this life changing event.
